First Stop: Columbia River Gorge

I arrived at my first stop at Ainsworth State Park in the Columbia River Gorge. The Gorge is spectacular. Each view more beautiful than the next.I arrived at my campsite and discovered that I was the only one camping in the upper loop of the campground. I had the entire area to myself. Just me, the trees and the birds. It was magical. When I arrived at my site, I set up my camp, got all systems hooked up, built my fire, and sat down to eat dinner in my camp rocking chair. I was exhausted but exhilarated. I kept looking around and asking, "Am I doing this? Am I ACTUALLY doing this?" The symphony of evening birds, responded to me with a chorus of "Yes, YES, YESSSS!"
